about

Proceeds all go to Ocean Conservancy oceanconservancy.org.

"It’s Our Ocean --
One of the things I’m most proud of at Ocean Conservancy is that we tackle the greatest global challenges facing our ocean today.
Even more, we focus on long-term solutions that promote a healthy ocean, abundant wildlife and thriving coastal communities.
What happens to the ocean impacts all of us. The ocean is our responsibility, but we can’t do it alone—we need to join forces with you and people around the world to keep our ocean and our coastal communities healthy and prosperous."
- From oceanconservancy.org/about/

Morfar has that traditional Fishslaughter sound that we have all come to know and love, only this time the bass takes a bit of a backseat to Fortanga's Octave Mandolin. I can say with a high degree of confidence that this is the only black metal album on the market with an octave mandolin featured as prevalently as it is here. Here are a few early words of kindness:

"This Fishslaughter is intriguing if nothing else. A psychadelic sound with a drum kit, bass, mandolin and some nice growls. Of course, the artwork is nice and trippy to match." u/Pizzor

"Their latest LP, Morfar, is an aquatic concept album, benefitting the Ocean Conservacy that shines a spotlight on the grim fate of our seas, the inevitable collapse of humanity, and—in a serious break from black-metal tradition—octave mandolin. Accordingly, guitars crop up on just one of the record’s 8 tracks, not that you’ll really miss them; the bristling, weepy textures endowed by the axe’s eight-stringed cousin imbue Fishslaughter’s harsh arrangements with a naturalistic churn befitting of its almighty subject. " - Zoe Camp

The record has been described as "weird shit" by Spear at Toilet ov Hell.

Although the subject matter of the lyrics may be a bit different, our goal is not. All of the proceeds will go directly to Ocean Conservancy. Please consider purchasing a copy of the album, as that will help us to climb the bandcamp charts and do little more signal boosting for this organization that has done so much good for all of us. Even if you don't want to purchase the record, consider giving directly to Ocean Conservancy at oceanconservancy.org. If you do that and send us evidence of your donation, we will send you the record directly to your email.

But if you download through bandcamp, you may or may not be treated to a bonus track...

Thank you for your support,
Glub
